harddisk partitioning for NE

Hello,

we are soon going to install the NE Trial Version of ZCS. The test
machine will have 2 harddisks (not mirrored) with probably the
following partitions/filesystems:

/boot
/
/var
/home
/usr


Questions:
1.
Is this partitioning ok, or would it be a good idea to define
additional dedicated partitions/filesystems for ZCS?

2.
What partitions should be installed on which disks?

Make sure it's not RAID 5. RAID 5 isn't fast enough for Zimbra, and Java threads time out causing trouble.

You can have /opt/zimbra (Zimbra's Home DIR) under / with no issues at all. However, depending on how you have your disaster recovery plan, some people/users like to have a separate partition for Zimbra in case your root HD fails for some reason.

As far as filesystem type, we have tested most with EXT3.
