Has anyone successfully installed the Ubuntu 6 version of the Zimbra Network Edition on Ubuntu 7.04 server? I've got a Dell PowerEdge 860 that Ubuntu 6.06 simply will not install on, so I need to try 7.04.
Thanks,
Mike

Installing Zimbra on that version of Ubuntu will render you ineligible for support, you may only install Zimbra NE on a supported platform.

Is there going to be Ubuntu 7 support in the future? Or at least support for a current distro aside from RHEL 5?
If I can't get support because I can't find a supported distro that runs on my hardware, that will be the end of my migration for the time being.
Mike
Yes there will be, how about openSUSE?

openSUSE 10.0 is old enough I suspect I'm going to have the same install issues. Apparently the kernel on the 6.06 CD doesn't like the RAID card on the Dell PE860.
I'm going to give Ubuntu 6.10 a shot. I'd rather run the network edition of Zimbra as I'd like to have the Outlook Connector and the Archiving solution.

...and hot backups, hsm, attachment indexing, etc (and of course support)![]()

I installed the open source version on 7.04 (Feisty Fawn). All you need to do is edit /etc/lsb-release and change DISTRIB_RELEASE to 6.0 or maybe it was 6.10. Anyway, after I did that the install went fine.Has anyone successfully installed the Ubuntu 6 version of the Zimbra Network Edition on Ubuntu 7.04 server? Dell Poweredges are certified platforms to run RHEL (4 and 5).
Needed drivers (depending on how old is your setup media) are available on Dell's website.
Which RAID card are you running ? The lousy SAS 5i/R or the PERC 5/E ?
It's obviously the same for CentOS 4.4+ and 5.x (but it's unsupported for Network Edition).
