Default Sending Mail! Still something wrong!

Okay, So I have a fresh install of fedora and zimbra. I got no errors when I did the install and I am still having the same issue. MTA is not running and I cannot figure out why.

I get this error when I try to send(is the same)

msg - system failure: MessagingException
code - service.FAILURE
method - ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
detail - soap:Receiver

What log should I look in? also THe spell checker is not running.

Default debug Javascript User Interface

Try to start your webclient with adding ?debug=1 to your Webmail URL

http://webmail.yourdomain.com/?debug=1

Allow the Popup Screen.

If you are lucky it shows you more details.

Also try to look inside /var/log/zimbra.log and the logs in /opt/zimbra/log/

Nothing populates the debug windows when I try to send the mail.

I noticed something right now when I was booting up the server again, When it was starting zimbra it failed, I saw a denied message. I am going to bounce the machine again and take a print screen show I can get closer look.

Things to check I found here on the forums for you:

- SElinux should be disabled
- Check the permissions of your postfix conf folder
Code:
ls -l /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf
total 208
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 15647 2007-03-28 22:55 access
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 8240 2007-03-28 22:55 aliases

Talking

Okay,

So here is the same thing from my box.

-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 15647 Apr 26 05:46 access
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 8240 Apr 26 05:46 aliases
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 10947 Apr 26 05:46 canonical
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 9622 Apr 26 05:46 generic
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 16393 Apr 26 05:46 header_checks
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 11942 Apr 26 05:46 LICENSE
-rw-r--r-- 1 zimbra zimbra 1675 Aug 1 08:40 main.cf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 14379 Apr 26 05:46 main.cf.default
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 2127 Apr 26 05:46 makedefs.out
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 5116 Jul 6 17:24 master.cf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 17077 Apr 26 05:46 postfix-files
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root postfix 6366 Apr 26 05:46 postfix-script
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root postfix 22018 Apr 26 05:46 post-install
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 6523 Apr 26 05:46 relocated
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 1629 Apr 26 05:46 TLS_LICENSE
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 11033 Apr 26 05:46 transport
-rw-r--r-- 1 root postfix 11732 Apr 26 05:46 virtual

My firewall is disabled and I believe that I have SElinux disabled. Hmmmm now that I think about it when I used to installed FC5 I had an option to enable or disable SElinux, when I did this install I didnt see anything.

off the top of your head do you know how to disable it?

Okay,

So I looked up the permissions things and found this;

su -root
chown -R zimbra:zimbra /opt/zimbra
cd /opt/zimbra/libexec
./zmfixperms

to fix the permissions right?

so then I tried it

and this...

[root@mail01 libexec]# ./zmfixperms
chown: cannot access `/opt/zimbra/perdition-1.17': No such file or directory
chown: `postfix: postfix': invalid user

note: there is no space between `postfix: and postfix' the messageboard parses it as a smily if I dont put the space.

nothing in my head, I am running on Debian. Only did FC4 one year ago ;-)

Disable selinux on FC5
Fedora Project, sponsored by Red Hat

But keep on searching the forum here and the wiki. there is lot of info about fedora core.

I would try the fixpermissions script (search forums), but if it does not work
a clean reinstall (of Fedora and Zimbra) with every single step noted on paper.

So you would have a clean base.

Also most important is all the /etc/hosts/ stuff and a clean DNS Setup before the installation start for Zimbra (also a lot about it in the forums here)

sorry, I have to leave for today as it is late here in europe. greetings, Robert
