Default Initialize log4j -- no appenders - mail queue

I have the latest version of the open source installed on an Ubuntu 6.10 edgy server. The mail server is on the "inside" of a pix firewall. Installation went flawlessy. We could send mail out from the start and still can. Had to make outside DNS changes for the domain A record and MX record.

Mail started flowing in when I made an access-list change to the PIX to allow smtp traffic to the inside IP of the zimbra installation. The incoming mail started getting stranded in the defered queue because zimbra was trying to use it's outside address. I had the client put an inside dns server in, made the nameserver change in Ubuntu and the deferred mail disappeared (customer did this when I was not present).

Now when looking at the catalina.out file it shows that "no manager running" when you try to access the mail queue screen from the admin logon. All services are running but the error shows that no appender can be found and to initialize log4j correctly.

I am not currently at their location but need to get this installation backup and running soon or my head will be on a platter!

Any help would be appreciated. (the sooner the better!)

What does zmcontrol status say?

Looks like the tomcat manager quit.
Also /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log would be helpful

Default Log4J

zmcontrol says that everything is running...but somewhere along that way in my stumbling around I evidently fixed the issue -- everything is up and running.

Now I just need to figure out how to map a windows XP share to copy the backup to.

Thanks.
