Default Zimbra OSS on SLES10

I have tried and tried to get zimbra 4.5.6 OSS working on SLES10. It will install but this don't seem to work correctly. Like mta sometimes would not start and aspell would not start. I had to uninstall zimbra and turn on the hula server, for now. Does zimbra work on SLES10?

The 5.0 Beta release is available for download from sourceforge with all the other OSS builds, it's been available for weeks. Details of release schedules can be found in the Product Portal.

Seems like a bear to build? Any hints you would care to share?

Yes, don't do it! Seriously, unless there's a spectacularly good reason don't go through the pain. If you do, note SVN is months out of date, grab a source tarball from sourceforge.

SLES10 is only being supported from 5.0 onwards by the look of it, unless they pop a 4.5.x release out in the future. Try the beta?

Yea, thats what i am talking about, the beta from tarball. It is exactly like the svn as far as building it. How do you build it from tarball? The install doc is the exact same as the svn install doc and both talk about getting packages from zimbra internal.

Do you specifically want to build it from source? There are binary SLES10 build in the developer builds area here (choose 5.0.0_BETA1, SUSEES10 should show up as first link):
SourceForge.net: Files

Here is direct link:
http://puzzle.dl.sourceforge.net/sou...3.SuSEES10.tgz

The build docs are very out of date, it will take you days to compile, even if you're very familiar with the thirdparty opensource projects it depends on.
