Default how to configure as relay

Hi,
I don't know if the title is correct but this is the situation :

I just install zimbra on dapper. Everything works but i can't receive mail from outside.

This is my network setup :

- we are domain.com
- our DNS is authoritative for our domain
- we have a qmail server (mail.domain.com) that receive all mails directly from
our ISP
- the zimbra server's name is mail2.domain.com
- For some test-user i have activated a zimbra account on mail2.domain.com
- on mail.domain.com we have forwarding enabled for that test-user
- for sending mail to outside we can use the mail.domain.com or
mail2.domain.com

I can send outside using the test-user on mail2.domain.com

Now the problem :
if i send an email from outside, the message go on mail.domain.com and then to mail2.domain.com but this refuse the connection.
So i put 10.1.0.0/8 in the MTA trusted network in the admin interface on mail2.domain.com.
Now the mail go on mail.domain.com and then to mail2.domain.com because i can see, in the mail.domain.com log thet the message has been accepted but queued, but i can't see anything in the testing-user account and not even in the zimbra queue.

Where i'm wrong ?

Sorry for my English

hmmmm.... not sure, but did you try the Relay MTA for external delivery in the Servers->MTA option?

I'm not exactly sure as how you want it, but if you use the option mentioned above, it will use your mail.domain.com to send e-mail outside. But you have to allow that from your mail.domain.com.

hope this helps.

Did you check the enable DNS option?

And also, i think you need to set your MX to be like MX1 and MX2, where your MX2 is a warm standy, whereby, any e-mail that goes to your MX1 also goes to your MX2, since your MX1 and the secondary server you made are both alive.

I have a record mx that point (in the external zone) at our isp mail server that scan the mail for viruses and than forward to mail.domain.com (the actual real mail server). Then, from mail.domain.com the message is forwarded to the zimbra server mail2.domain.com

If you're behind a router or firewall you'll also need a local DNS server with A & MX records pointing to your server, search the wiki (and/or forums) for split DNS.

Just add the new network to the list of trusted networks, search the forums and/or wiki for details of the commands if you want to do it manually.
