    Default 7.1.2 install failure

Similar problem updating from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2. "installation ended prematurely".
I have attached my log file. Any help?

I have not tried backing up my data, uninstalling and reinstalling, as previous posts indicated that did not work.

About the log i would say somwhere here is the error:

MSI (c) (8C:F4) [16:52:16:390]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Deleting SECONDSEQUENCE property. Its current value is '1'.
Action ended 16:52:16: ExecuteAction. Return value 3.
    MSI (c) (8C:F4) [16:52:16:391]: Doing action: FatalError

    --------------------

Personally ife deaktivated the Firewall, NO AV is running
ErrorMessage instantly after pressing final install button / last Dialog
as i wrote bevore i tried it with the regular download AND the update by zd itself

Im also in Admin role, UAC is disabled

    Windowslogfiles:

Here i got another error. It seems Zimbra need the ability to create a restorepoint (which is disabled on my Machine) - first error and a Windows logfile error.

After reenable Restorepoints the msi Error in the Logfiles dissapears but install still Fail
So theres no more error in the Windowslogfiles

Can you try running this from a command line:

    "C:\Windows\system32\wscript.exe" //B "C:\Users\Hollis\AppData\Local\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop\bin\zdctl-wrapper.vbs" shutdown

It should basically do nothing; normally it will just advance to a new command line without producing any output. If you get any output from running it let us know.

Also, are there any errors in Windows Event Viewer?

I ran the command line and all it did was give me a new command line as you said.

I have looked at the windows event viewer, and there are some errors. Can you tell me either what to look for or how to show them to you.

I am not familiar with event viewer, I have some items under Applications that say:

Information: "Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Zimbra Desktop. Product Version: 2.0.0. Product Language: 1033. Installation success or error status: 1603."

    then later:

Product: Zimbra Desktop -- Installation failed.

Thanks, I hope you can help!

You can select the events, right click, and choose save selected events. Then specify a destination and choose Text (.txt).

You can also right click on each of Application, System, and Security and choose 'save all events as'. This might contain potentially sensitive data, so you can email it to me (jflanigan@zimbra.com) if you'd rather not post here.

One theory I'd like to test is that the problem is somehow related to the lower-tier 'Home' and/or 'Starter' versions of Windows as opposed to 'Pro' or 'Enterprise'.

Can anyone confirm that they are having the problem on Pro/Enterprise?

    Default A sugestion to check

Make sure that you are updating from 7.0.1 to 7.1.1, and then for 7.1.2.

I've found this problem when updating from 7.0.1 to 7.1.2 WILL fail, both as autoupdates, or using the MSI installer.

I am seriously considering backing up my data, deleting 7.1.1 and trying to install 7.1.2. and import my data.

I am thinking that the worst thing that could happen is that I still cannot install 7.1.2. and have to reinstall 7.1.1.

    Has anyone tried this??
