Default Problem installing ZD on Ubuntu

Have you solved the problem?
I downloaded the install packages and extended to /usr/local/src. Then go to the folder /usr/local/src/zdesktop_2_0_1_b10659_linux_i686, run:
./install.pl
to start the installation. As follows:

sudo ./install.pl

Welcome to Zimbra Desktop setup wizard. This will install Zimbra Desktop on you computer.

You have finished installing application files.

Would you like to continue to install data files for user: root?

To install data files for additional users, please login as the user and run this command:
/opt/zimbra/zdesktop/linux/user-install.pl

longyb@longyb-laptop:/usr/local/src/zdesktop_2_0_1_b10659_linux_i686$

It seemed that the installation had been completed. But the problem is there seemed no way to start it. On my desktop there's no icons at all. I'm also new to Linux. Anybody can help?
Thanks in advance!

Why did you install the data files for the root user? You should have stopped the install at that point and followed the instructions on how to install it as a user (i.e. your user name).

If you use a distro in another language as english, you should change "DESKTOP" with whatever is the name of DESKTOP in the distro language.I.E.:for German =Schreibtisch, or for italian =Scrivania.Or either installer will not find the folder!

Default start zimbra

It seems you wrongly installed the application:after the first part of install(installing the application as root) the installer asks you if you want to install the root personal folders. You have to choose no! exit root. The installer will tell you:"if you want to install personal folder type blablabla.Type that command and install as user!!Only in this case Zimbra will work for personal use.
