Default ZD 2.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.10

I am new to Linux and have only been familiar with installing software via the Ubuntu Software Center. I've tried Zimbra on Windows and now want to load it up on Linux. I downloaded the install package and extracted the files to a temporary folder. What's next? How do you go about installing it?

Probably a very newbie question, but I can't seem to find a clear answer in the forums...

Thanks.

There's details in the product documentation, take a look at the announcement: Zimbra Desktop 2.0.1 is now available! You'll want the second link down in the Documentation section of that post.

Thanks Bill...

I already went through these documents pretty throughly and the closest details I could find were under the section titled "Installation Instructions for First Time Users" which included only the following as it pertains to Linux:

o On Linux, if you choose default install location and/or want to perform multi-user installation, please run installer as root. See Zimbra Desktop FAQ for more information.
* Run the installation wizard and follow the step-by-step instructions.

The FAQ was no more helpful in detailing the installation process from the downloaded package. Can one install the client via an "apt-get install" command?

Thanks.

Once you download it, just double-click on it, or go to a terminal and chmod 755 the file and execute it. I'd recommend using sudo and installing it as root so that it is available for anyone else that uses the computer as well.
