Default [SOLVED] Help with setting up Gmail account

I'm sorry if this question is not in the right place.

I'm having problems setting up my gmail account.
I've tried going by gmail directions on setting up an IMAp account and nothing has worked.

So at first I was getting this error: Timeout when connecting to "imap.gmail.com:465". Please check host/port and network connectivity.
Then I checked the " Security
Use SSL encryption when accessing this server"
and now i'm getting this message:
"User account authentication failed. Please check username and password."
I've triple checked my user name and password, it works.
Please help!
Thank you!
Natalie
