Default Installing YZD on Windows XP with different user

Greetings,

I'm using Zimbra CS on my company for some user and they are not local administrators of their computers (running Windows XP). We are on an Active Directory Domain and when I'm going to install YZD, I do it with my domain admin user.

During the installation I change the installation path from the default prompted path:
"c:\Documents and Settings\superadminuser\Local Settings\..."
to
"c:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\..."

and then I create a Desktop shortcut to YZD to allow the user to launch the application. all goes fine, but when he tries to save an attachment file, YZD prompts the Documents folder of the superadminuser and not the user's Documents folder.

If I change the folder location on where the file is save, the permission on that file doesn't allow thet user to open that file.

I'm using YZD 1.0 and to solve this problem I MUST set the user as local administrator of that computer. Is there any other solution to this problem?

thank you.

There is any solution about that??

Same problem here. When I try to install ZD for second user, it updates the install and accesses the first user accounts.

Normaly,

The shortcut launch a "zdclient.exe". In the same directory, the file "application.ini" contains this variable "XRE_PROFILE_PATH".
In this path a file exist : prefs.js and in this a variable describe where save the attachement.

You must modify this file.

Regards.

Thanks for your answer.

Isn't it odd that the installer doesn't grab the appropriate path from the user who is installing? In fact, it seems odd that the installer would need to be run for each user.

I must have missed something. I did the first install and it didn't show up in the menu for the other user, so I ran the install again from the other user login, but it picked up the first profile path. So, I did an uninstall, then installed as the other user, which worked for the other user.

Now, should I create a shortcut for the first user, pointing to a profile for him? There is no menu item for users who did not run the install. (?)

I see you are running RedHat. FYI: I use ZD on my Ubuntu and Debian installs with success. Is there a similar install problem on Linux?

zd 1.0.x only allows admin user to install; and it does not support multi-users sharing the same machine.

but the coming zd 2.0 will support it. we don't have a fixed date for zd 2.0, but it should be out this quarter.

Excellent. I'll look forward to it. I don't know of any programs that only allow one user per machine. Perhaps this should be noted early in the install; or did I miss this somehow?

Thanks for the info...

This is a potential showstopper for me - I have persuaded users to make access through firefox and I will uninstall YZD but it is not our preferred method.

Can I Beta test v2 for you?
