OK -- I checked the services again (did that previous), and added the user account I'm logged on with manually in the logon tab, and was able to start the service. I don't understand why this happened. This is the latest of weird things I've noticed since my original user profile got corrupted about 6 weeks ago and the only thing I could do was crate a new user account and copy everything over from the corrupted account to the new one. Since then, I've encountered weird things like having to grant myself permission to copy and paste from one folder to another, file icons with what looks like a sharing symbol in the corner and now this! Anyway -- my problem with Zimbra is now resolved -- thanks for the help!
