Desktop install issues

Hi

I posted this under the zimlets did not install thread.

As there has been no reply I here is the posting as a separate thread.

I am getting the same message sequence as the install zimlets failure message users on an install on a Lenovo Laptop but running fedora 10 linux.

Executed install program after successful download and transfer of file to /opt and running the chown (to root) and chmod comands.

During install I got the Zimlets missing during install but install completes but without creating Launcher. Manually created launcher.

Executing Launcher gives following dialogue box error message:

The error message states "Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop process, or restart your system."

I have tried to kill and get:

"[root@xxx zdesktop]# ./zdesktop stop
Shutting down zdesktop
The daemon is not running.
[root@xxx zdesktop]# ./zdesktop start
Starting zdesktop
[root@xxx zdesktop]# nohup: appending output to `nohup.out'

Happy to run traces log etc.

Let me know what would help from here.

please do not install ZD as root. ZD on linux is meant to be installed and run by regular users.
