Default [SOLVED] Fedora 10 64 bits

Hi,

is it possible to install Zimbra Desktop in 64 bit linux systems????

If not, will you release a 64 bit version???

Thanks a lot.

You can install Zimbra on anything you like but if it breaks you get to keep the pieces.

The currently supported operating system for Zimbra are the ones listed here: Open Source Edition Downloads: Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Software by Zimbra

If you want a stable production mail server (I'm assuming you're talking about the OSS version of Zimbra) then I'd suggest you pick a Red Hat build and install that on CentOS 5.3. Bleeding edge distributions don't provide the stability you need for a reliable mail platform.

Thanks for your answer Phoenix, but as you can see, im talking about installing Zimbra Desktop in 64 bits systems, not ZCS.

Thanks again.

That was a pretty dumb reply from me then, wasn't it?

There currently isn't a 64 bit build for ZD on 64 bit systems but having said that I have the current release installed on a 64 bit openSUSE machine without problems. Have you tried installing it on your Fedora machine?

You should be able to create a link to it yourself with something like:

Code:
"/yourlocation/zimbra/zdesktop/linux/prism/zdclient" -webapp "/yourlocation/zimbra/zdesktop/zdesktop.webapp" -override "/yourlocation/zimbra/zdesktop/zdesktop.webapp/override.ini" -profile "/yourlocation/zimbra/zdesktop/profile"
Obviously 'yourlocation' should be the mount point it's installed on.
