Default [SOLVED] Upgraded to Prism asking for URL

Is there a one shot fix for this?

Zimbra Desktop was persistent with a pop up every ten minutes "Highly Recommending" I upgrade.

Now it's broke, seriously, great joke but it's not April 1st quite.

Here's all my pertinent info:

Platform : Windows 7 Beta 7057 64bit Ultimate (had no issues until upgrade)

Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zimbra\zdesktop.webapp

Mode LastWriteTime Length Name
---- ------------- ------ ----

-a--- 3/23/2009 11:07 PM 434 splash.html
-a--- 3/28/2009 3:32 PM 278 webapp.ini

Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zimbra\profile

I don't want to lose my mail, obviously.

It doesn't matter if I used the link or startup zdesktop.exe from explorer.

Currently ZD can't not be installed under %PROGRAMFILES% : Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop - Zimbra :: Wiki, known issues (3).

Here is the workaround:

1) stop ZD service (Administrative Tools->Service->Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop Service->stop

2) backup these 3 folders: derby, index and store

3) uninstall ZD completely.

4) rerun ZD installer and install it at suggested default location: /Users/<user name>/AppData/..."

5) after successful installation, stop ZD service again

6) copy over those 3 folders you have backed up earlier, overwriting the ones at new installation location.

7) start ZD

Default Other (better) solutions

It can either be run as administrator or you can change ownership of the files and subfolders (this is what I did).

This solved the issue, however, frankly I was quite annoyed that a program was insistent that I update it only to have a newer version that had issues with file permissions and where the installer didn't put files in the USER folder that needed user permissions. I understand things have to be pointed to properly to ensure it works, however, seeing that this time wasn't taken is disappointing.

Also, I think installing it in a different folder to get around permissions and defeat the OS's directory structure (it's the way it is for a reason) is stupid.

I'm getting this error. Will an 'Remove' and the Reinstallation work? Or will this issue persist?
