ric, your log shows that the service came up just fine. Could you try restarting the ZD window? If that doesn't work, please check that the port is reachable. Open cmd and type 'telnet localhost 7633'. You can also try Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop FAQ - Zimbra :: Wiki to access the UI using your Web browser.

i tried restarting the window several times... actually more than several times... i get the error message as i originally reported in my first post.

when i do the cmd task, a black window pops up and then says connecting to telnet. the black window then closes

when i try to open the browser in ie7 using the url found in the file mentioned ie7 says the webpage cannot be displayed.

what do i do now?

ric

can you run cmd again, and type in this command:

netstat -an

do you see a line like this:

TCP 127.0.0.1:7633 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

i get a whole load of data -- multiple lines that speed across the screen. they move *way* too fast for me to see what they say

you can redirect output to a text file, then open it with notepad.

netstat -an > c:\netstat.txt
