Default Cannot Access POP Account with Zimbra

I really want to try to use this program, but I am unable to set up ANY POP accounts inside of Zimbra desktop. I have used the same credentials / server information to set up and use:

Entourage
Apple Mail
Outlook
Thunderbird
OperaMail
SeaMonkey

None of these programs have a problem retrieving / sending my emails.

Zimbra won't connect.

I've searched and searched the forums and done a fair amount of Googling - and I cannot figure this out.

POP Account from GoDaddy

email: my_name@mydomain.com

username: my_name@mydomain.com
password: my_password

incoming: pop.secureserver.net
outgoing: smtpout.secureserver.net

It has to be something simple and I would really appreciate any suggestions or information regarding this issue.

Thank you very much in advance.

Please check this thread :

Trouble connecting to POP3 server

You might have an issue with the same thing ... did you test accessing your account using 'use TLS' in Thunderbird ?

Default same problem

I'm having the same problem. I setup the account in Thunderbird and it works fine.
Zimbra desktop gives error message:
service.FAILURE: system failure: Unable to connect to IMAP server: DataSource: { id=14a9a40b-1a4a-466d-a1b9-34b19388f9b1, type=pop3, isEnabled=true, name=garry@dbmcweb.net, host=mail.dbmcweb.net, port=110, connectionType=cleartext, username=garry@dbmcweb.net, folderId=2 }

I use have 3 POP accounts all work fine.
Are you running the windows version?

Check the firewall settings you might not be giving Zdesktop access.

I have it running on Vista and F10 Linux.

Could you please send me your zdesktop.log file and I will take a quick look? My email is dac@zimbra.com.

I was able to successfully add my other email address so it doesn't appear to be a firewall issue. That said, it won't receive email! There is an exclamation mark in a red circle (up near New Folder). Clicking on it says:
system failure: POP3 server must support UIDL extension.
I like Zimbra and actually have clients using the hosted version (at 01.com) because it will synch with their Blackberry but quite frankly an email program shouldn't be this difficult to get going!

During POP3 account setup did you choose to leave new messages on the server? Unfortunately, if your POP3 server does not support the UIDL extension only the option to "delete after downloading" is supported. Most POP3 servers support UIDL these days, but some still don't.

But I will fix the error message to be more descriptive and shown during account setup rather than during mailbox sync.

I have the same problem, but not with godaddy - I'm guessing it has to do with name-based web site hosting email servers that are on a shared server. None of the above suggestions fix it.

You are correct. It is on a shared server with APlus. I guess the question is why I can access it with Thunderbird and not with Zimbra.
