Question Ubuntu/Windows dual boot sharing ZDesktop database?

I'm in the process of migrating from Windows to Ubuntu. For some time I'm expecting to run a dual boot set-up on my laptop and be switching between the two. I have ZDesktop Beta4 running successfully on Windows with a 1.4 Gigabyte mailbox.

When I install ZDesktop on Ubuntu how can I get it to share the same database (i.e. mailbox files) on the PC?

Ubuntu can read and write to the Windows NTFS partition, but Windows cannot see the Unix file system. I live in a slow and expensive bandwidth country. Having to resynchronise the mailbox to the Ubuntu version will take more than 24 hours. Keeping two versions of the data on the laptop will also double the network load to keep them both up to date.
