Default [SOLVED] Desktop gives error on startup

After installing zimbradesktop on XP Pro, SP 2 as administrator. when starting as a "user" we see an error referencing "prizim".

Does zimbradesktop require administrator access under XP, or must some component be installed as a user?

Have you tried reinstalling it as the "User" and checking to see if that fixes the issue.

User does not have install rights. on the system.
We have some users that will click on anything spyware, addware, and worse.

Can you add rights quick install it and then revoke the rights again? Granted its kind of a hoeky way of doing it but really its all I can think of...

currently we don't support multi-user environment. the product is limited to personal laptop or desktop.

there are RFEs filed to add multi-user support later on.

Default single user

So is there a workaround that does not require the user to have Admin rights at all times?

I can give the user Admin rights while doing the install, and then revoke them afterwards but will they continue to need them to use ZimbraDesktop?

I only want a single user on a given PC to be the Desktop user, but that user is not the PC's administrator, remember we are talking about a Windows pc with all of XPs security problems, and I'm at a site with a few of the "luser" types but they must have access to the PC anyway

Here is your answer. It works I added my tester user to the administrator group logged in downloaded installed ZDB re-logged back in as administrator and then removed tester from the admin group. Logged back in as tester (a lot of logging in and out ) started Zimbra Desktop with no issues.

Default Solved

That appears to be the workaround that will do the job.

Thanks
