Cannot connect to "localhost: 7633"

Now, what would a Linux guy do about this same error on a Linux box?

What about for Macs???? I downloaded the Mac version of Desktop, it saved to my desktop..... and when I click on it for the first time, it comes up with a blank white pop-up and has that local host error...the 7633 one.

Any ideas???

I am getting the same error on both Ubuntu Linux Gutsy and Hardy. I tried to restart the zdesktop service, but that did not help. The software actually did work well for some time, but all of the sudden it stopped working with that error. I would agree with the theory of the service not running, but I have not been able to correct it with starting the service.

If you see something like "failed to inject zimlets" or "can't connect to localhost:7633" during or right after installation, it means somehow the backend service failed to start up. Please see if you can find any errors in logs under <install>/log. Thanks!
