No problem hefty2000...glad to help!

Good point about setting the service to start automatically.

Good luck with the proliferation.

Default Linux users?

I have the same problem in Ubuntu. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

I also had the same problem. It seems that desktop service is not starting up when the computer reboots. I would get same error and I reinstalled twice. I then went and read thru the wiki and found out how to start the service from the command line. open up a terminal and navigate to the installed folder. Mine was /home/bill/.zdesktop
I then typed ./zdesktop start
the servide started and I was able to get the desktop running from the icon. I am not sure why this happens but at least I was able to find out what was happening.

Currently we don't auto-restart on linux. This is going to be fixed for GA. For now please remember to restart manually after reboot on any linux platform. Thanks!

HI all
I have also some issues installing zimbra in ubuntu hardy heron. The instalation goes well but at the end it gives a message like this: "Failed to inject zimlets. Some features may be missing."
And also can't connect to Cannot connect to "localhost: 7633"
What can I do to correct this?
Thanks

it took me a couple of tries to install before I did not get the inject zimlet error.
As far as localhost: 7633 you need to start the service before it will connect.
The desktop service does not start automatically after you do a reboot. you need to go to the folder that you installed zdesktop in and type ./zdesktop start

Install it as a normal user and not as root.

HHmmm no luck. After installing as normal user. The installation is going to start Zimbra Desktop Core Service. It stalls for a bit (just 1/2 secs) and then this message appears.
"Failed to inject zimlets. Some features may be missing"
I press OK, then on console I start it manually and after that this message comes through
"The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:7633."
