Not yet. Once you sign the contrib agreement we can post them to the website for others to use. We are don't have a source control tree setup yet but will either set up one ourselves or use a sourceforge type option.

Hi Smarz!

We are also working on a French translation. Can you please send us what you did, we will be happy to have a second look at it! I cannot download the ZIP file from the forum, can you send it to me?

Thank you!

We need to have signed contrib agreements for attachments to be approved in this fourm. This protect Zimbra and our customers going forward. Hope you understand.

Default French translation and spelling language

First of all Kevin, I tried to fax the agreement but the fax doesn't pick up the phone. Is it working?

I reviewed Patrickīs translation and converted it to ASCII, the ZIP is enclosed.

I also activated the French spelling. I did this in 2 steps:

1) I installed the French dictionary in Zimbra's aspell. The procedure is (I guess it is the same for any language):
- Download the dictionary from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/dict
- Extract it from the tar file in a work directory
- Set Zimbra's aspell in the path with:
PATH=/opt/zimbra/aspell-0.60.3/bin:$PATH
- Configure and install the dictionary according to the README
./configure
make
make install

2) Edit the file /opt/zimbra/httpd/htdocs/aspell.php and changed the line:

$dictionary = pspell_new("en_EN");
by
$dictionary = pspell_new("fr_FR");

Now, the question to Zimbra Gurus: many people, at least in Europe, use several dictionaries simultaneously, depending on the language they are using in a particular e-mail. (en, fr, de, it, es, se, dk, etc). GMail offers a menu with supported languages. It seems easy to add the same feature to Zimbra, that is, a pull-down menu displaying the installed dictionaries, each one installed with the procedure described above.

In that case, 'aspell.php' should be slightly different and read the current e-mail dictionary language from somewhere, in order to do 'pspell_new($current_dictionary)'.

The question is, where should this language list reside? Which is the best way, withing Zimbra coding aesthetics, to pass it to PHP?

Carlos

It should be. I'll double check when I get back in the office in the morning.

Seems this could be a global config param to control the list. The SOAP call from the web client to the server could pass the lang param.

Thanks for the quick how-to on adding a new lang pack for spell check.

Default New FR translation and small bugs

Hi!

Thank you Kevin for your answer. I sent the agreement by mail, the fax doesnīt work (I didnīt tried today).

Please find enclosed one more version of the French translation, with some corrections.

We found 2 bugs related with time/date formats. In AjxMsg.properties we have:

timeFormat = 12
dateFormat = MDY

If we set the formats as:

timeFormat = 24
dateFormat = DMY

we have 2 problems:
1) Minor one: the times at the left of the calendar are still displayed in 12h format. Inside the appointment the time format is correct.
2) Bigger bug: the appointment for January 3rd 2006 is actually recorded on March 1st, that is, the dateFormat is not used when parsing the input dates. This bug is annoying because for a while we thought that the appointments where not recorded at all! Of course, on January 1st it worked!

Carlos
