4.0.3 French Translation

Hi everybody:

No changes in the language files from 4.0.2 (AFAIK). Here are the files just in case.

I have some trouble to use the french translation.

I run the ZC NE 4.03 on an SLES 9 server.

I copy the 3 file AjxMsg_fr_FR.properties ZMsg_fr_FR.properties ZmMsg_fr_FR.properties on the /opt/zimbra/tomcat/webapps/zimbra/WEB-INF/classes/msgs/ directory.
I made a chmod zimbra:zimbra on those files.

I restarted my serveur.

On the client side :
I use Firefox2.
I flush the cache.

I connected again to the web interface and :
- most of the client are still in english (in fact i think that everything is still in english exept the calendar)


Did i made something wrong ?

J'ai rencontré le meme probleme que toi
Renomme tes fichiers "AjxMsg_fr_FR.properties ZMsg_fr_FR.properties ZmMsg_fr_FR.properties" en enlevant les "_fr_FR" et donc cela vas écrasé les anciens

Ensuite redemarre apache tomcat et le tour est joué, meme avec internet explorer

Yes, you did not read the forum nor the wiki.

You have to rename the files to *_fr.properties (*_fr_FR.properties won't work).

for not reading the wiki :

If you want to test your translation on a live ZCS deployment:

1. Copy translated properties files to deployment server

% cp *.properties /opt/zimbra/tomcat/webapps/zimbra/WEB-INF/classes/msgs/
% cp ZsMsg*.properties /opt/zimbra/conf/msgs/

2. Restart Tomcat

% su - zimbra
% tomcat restart

3. Set the language preference in your browser and reload

Yes, but a couple of lines above, you'll see the "correct" code for French is "fr" and not "fr_FR", it's been changed in the wiki last week iirc 8))

You should also get the date zimlet that Carlos made.

You can download a tar file from http://files.whitehatmail.net/ (enter with invite/invite then go to Zimbra). There you will find a shell script that installs the French files, the date zimlet and the spelling. There is a bug in the spelling though ....
