Default Zimbra 6.0.1 French Patch

I finally had the time to test and tune the French translation of the brand new 6.0.1 release.

As usual, you can download the tar (or zip) files from ftp://ftp.whitehatmail.fr/pub/zimbra .

Now all changes can be skipped if you answer "n" to all the questions (in the previous version some steps were always applied).

The installation is done as root with Zimbra running. Use the command:

Code:
./install-fr.sh
The changes performed by this patch are:

- Minor changes in the language files (a few shorter labels, use of Block Notes instead of Carnet to avoid confusions with 'Carnet d'Adresses').

- Removal of the file /opt/zimbra/conf/msgs/ZsMsg_fr_FR.properties (it is in English and is a sub-set of the "fr" file).

- Installation of the Starxpert save zimlet and Google translator zimlet.

- French spelling dictionary

- Instant messaging activation

- Translation of the "Quota warning" message.

- Minor change to /etc/init.d/zimbra to see what is going on upon start/stop/status.

- Set 'fr' as default language for everybody.

- Disable Yahoo bar and other Yahoo zimlets (that I find more annoying than useful).

- Modify conf/zmmta.cf to verify the account existence before accepting an incoming e-mail.

Enjoy!

Thank you, I was wondering how to make the spell checker work in French (accented letters were blocking it), and applying your patch did the trick.

Thanks Cvidal.

There's another text to translate. The one sent when a resource(place) reply automatically to a meeting request. (someplace has been scheduled for your appointment).

I'm just a beginner in zimbra and a to-become-a-beginner-maybe-some-day in coding.

Hi,

This message should be already in French. It is defined by the label:
Code:
defaultInviteReplyResourceAcceptMessage
in the ZmMsg_fr.properties file (/opt/zimbra/jetty/webapps/zimbra/WEB-INF/classes/messages).

Check that the user sending this message has set her/his default language to French. You can use the CLI:
Code:
su - zimbra
zmprov ga the_account@your_domain.com | grep zimbraPrefLocale
Let me know what you find out, it may be a bug also :-)

Carlos

Not it's not a bug of ZCS. It's my bug ;-)
I set the right language on the user side and it works.

However, there still are standard messages to translate for example the notification message : "
New message received at my_account@testserver.xxx.
Sender: xxxxxxxxxxx
Subject: test notification en francais"

When i'll have an access to the system i'll have a try modifying the .properties files.

Thanks
