Default Zimbra desktop to external POP and IMAP

When do you expect to have Zimbra Desktop to connect to external POP and IMAP servers without the need for ZCS? I would like to try Zimbra Desktop as a replacement to Outlook at Thunderbird.

No set date yet, but we are already working on these features. Will be this summer time frame. Thanks!
