Default Zimbra Desktop: Always open in the browser

I have found that the zdesktop run through Chromium browser is faster and more responsive. Is there a way to launch the client in the browser directly without opening zdesktop. I found there is a utility for Windows by the name zdlauncher. But I would like to know how to do it in Linux or if there is a launcher already available?

    Regards,
    Vivek.

I think I found a way to do this in linux. There are three steps:

    1) You will have to get the URL zdesktop creates when you click on the 'Open in browser' link. This URL has the authentication key attached to it. You need to bookmark this link.

    2) Everytime zdesktop starts, it also starts a server with a random port number. The above URL would also have this port number. You need to make this port number static. To do that, you will have to edit the following file and change the port number:

    <user>/jetty/etc/jetty.xml

    From:

    <Set name="port"><SystemProperty name="jetty.port" default="0"/></Set>

    To somethine like:

    <Set name="port">49163</Set>

    3) Then you can start zdesktop in the server mode as follows:

    <user>/zdesktop/bin/zdesktop start|stop

I got these steps from: ZCS 6.0:Zimlet Developers Guideev Environment Setup - Zimbra :: Wiki

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Vivek.

    HI,
Zimbra Desktop 7.2.1 GA (build 11637)
I found the jetty.xml file but unfortunately it did no contain the string "jetty.port" (Unfortunately I was not able to attach the file to this post).
How can I make the changes, so that I'll be able to have a permanent URL link to zimbra? Should I insert the correct string into the jetty.xml file?
    After that, following steps from:

    5. Shutdown and restart the Zimbra Desktop service. Right-click on the Zimbra Desktop tray icon and select "Shutdown Service". Browse to "Start > Programs > Zimbra Desktop > Zimbra Desktop" to restart.

I don't see any "shutdown service" option when I right click on the zimbra Desktop icon. However, there is a "quit" option
    Would that do?

    Thanks for your help.
    cheers
