    Default Import Problems

    I have updated ZD to latest version 7.1.4 on Vista 64.

    I am trying to move Zimbra mail from older system to above. I exported mail to .tgz file. Moved to above machine. Used import. Import says it is starting, but no activity is taking place. Looking at the Windows Task Manager - it says Zimbra:Preferences:Import/Export is running, but no disk access sounds or CPU usage is occurring.

    Has anyone else had problems with ZD import on the latest version?

    Yes, I have the same problem on 7.2.0

    And I really have no clue how to migrate to Zimbra.

    And also I noticed there are LOT of not answered questions
    in Zimbra forums.

    Really? These are Community Supported forums and people answer questions here on a voluntary basis and if they know the answer. If you know the answer to some of the unanswered questions then feel free to contribute.

    1. convert the thunderbird file with emails to MBox (mbx2eml), tar and gzip
    2. use original file from thunderbird

    In both cases I get message "import started".

    If a file given is small I get message like "import finished" and no mail added to selected folder.

    If a file is big (500 Mb) I just get "import started" and that is all.

    No activity on HDD/CPU, no mail added!


    I tried to use Web Client and always get the same error
    "Bufferstream overflow"

    The simple answer to that question is that the export/import function is only for Zimbra Desktop files, you can't import mail by creating a compressed file then importing it into ZD. Search the Zimbra Desktop forums for some details on how to get mail from your local Thunderbird to Zimbra Desktop if that's what you're trying to do - I'm still not sure from your description what you want.
