Default Concerns about the "Local Folder" section

Hi Guys,

Recently we encouraged our users to use Zimbra desktop instead of MS outlook to enjoy all zimbra features at client end. And no doubt users are happy with their new email client.

But they found below limitations specific to mail archival method.

1. To archive mail, we have to create folder structure under " Local folder" and manually need to move the mail. We can not schedule it or automate it.

2.And the major concern is if an email is archived from the Sent folder to the local folder, the archived Sent folder does not show the "To" name. May be because this is not the SPECIAL ARCHIVE SENT FOLDER. So this become very painful for users to get quick view to see the "TO" items in the sent item in "Local Folder"

Can any one please help me to get work around for this concerns.

Thanks

What is wrong with simply using the Backup feature of Zimbra Desktop?

Bill,

Thanks for your reply.

No doubt..Backup feature in Zimbra desktop is good. But the use of local folder and backup feature are different things. User need local folder access on daily bases as they use to archive their mail to maintain the Quota size.

To address the 2nd issue which I have mentioned, I tried to import the "Sent" item of server section under "Local folder" but still not getting "To" field in the view and not getting option to add this field.

Any zimlet avalible for this ? I am searching on net but still no luck..
