Having Emails Show as Unread in Folders

Greetings is it possible to have emails show as unread in folders that I move them to? I just want to be able to see a count of how many emails are in each folder, right now there is no number on the folder because the emails are showing as read.

Are you sure its not showing the nos. of mails in each folder. Its showing top right corner for me for all the folders that I have created.

Yes, I am absolutely sure, no numbers on the top right corner even though I have 3 emails in one folder and more in another.
