Unable to search within attachments

Using Zimbra Desktop 7.1.2 (build 10978) on Win 7 Professional 64 bit. I am unable to search within attachments.

• When I type any search word in the box, attachments (word, excel and pdf) are not returned knowing that they contain that word
• When I directly type 'type:excel "part"' in the search bar, excel attachment containing text 'part' is not returned (in fact, no attachment is returned)

Since I do not find many threads addressing this issue, I presume there is something more which I need to do to make this happen. Is there any external plugin that I need to install to search within attachments ?

Anybody ? I'm still bothered and looking for a solution. Can't figure out how to search within attachments.
