Question Bulk Email From Contact list

How do I add the contacts that I have in my address book to an email? The "To" section doesn't allow me to click it and add the contacts. Is this because I'm just using the free trial. Will I need to purchase the software in order to send bulk emails?

I have the same problem. ZD it's no free trial. It's free !
What type of e-mail account you have ? gmail, pop ...?
I noticed that if i have a gmail account and i have the gmail address book synchronized with ZD then there is no problem. When you compose a message, you select the gmail account, you select TO, cc, bcc from the address book and you send your email properly. If you have more accoounts other than gmail you can't use address book for the other accounts, so what in fact you do to overcome the problem is that you select first the gmail account, you select your recipients from the gmail account's contacts and at the end you change the delivery account from gmail to the one you want to deliver your mail from.
If we don't have a gmail account at all though in ZD then we have a problem . We can't use To, cc,bcc to select recepients from address book. The buttons To, cc, bcc are grey i.e not selectable.
If you try to create NEW ADDRESS BOOK under your each mail account this doesn't appear anywhere. Creating a new Address book is another problem, i have already posted a thread and I didn't have an answer so far.

In fact if you don't have a gmail account in ZD you can't use address book(contacts)
Is this true ? or we do something wrong ? Can anybody help us please ??

Default Same Issue

I just downloaded and installed ZD (1/24/12). When I try to compose, the "TO:"
,"CC:" and "BCC" icons are grayed out and clicking on them will not open the address book. Autocomplete does not work either.
I've spent about 3 hours on this and am just about ready to deinstall and try something else.
Zimbra Desktop 7.1.2 build 10978, Windows 7, 64 bit

Default Problem solved

Well, I don't know which of the two following solutions solved the issue, but Autocomplete now works.

1. I installed the beta version 7.1.3 (Build 11167). At this point, I don't remember if the autocomplete worked or not...

but then I noticed something... When I clicked on a contact, the details in the right pane indicated the email address. However, when I double-clicked the contact to edit the information, I noticed the "email address" field was blank. Further down the edit screen there was a field named "other" which had the email address and a field named "Type (or something) which contained "email".

2. I returned to my CSV import file and looked at the field headings. The email address field had a space between the word "email" and the work "Address". (Email Address). (This file was exported from ms Live Mail client).

I changed the column heading to EmailAddress (no space) and re-imported. Auto-Complete now works. I Still can't click the "To" or "Cc" buttons and get the address book, but I don't think that's a big deal for now.

I'm also posting this to the other thread that I was working.

yes but you say that you still can't click the TO,CC buttons. When you compose a new message with various recipents how do you select them since these buttons are grey ? Do you have an address book eventually or not ? and how do you use it when composing a new message ? because I have the same problem and I can't use it because as you say Buttons are grey and they don't let us choose mail addresses.

The only way I managed having address book as i already mentioned abovw in a previous post in this thread , is by having a gmail account synchronized with its address book to ZD. If i don't have gmail account I can't use an address book. This is my so far experience. Is there something else that I can do ?

These are Community supported forums and posting here is voluntary, anyone that posts here does so in their own time. If you need to see whether something you're having a problem with is really a bug then search bugzilla and file a report if you find nothing.
