    Angry Cannot connect to server...

    Hey Everybody...

I'm really going to be crazy with a error message after several new installation:

    Cannot connect to server.
    method: SyncRequest
    msg: Cannot connect to server.
    code: EMPTY_RESPONSE
I've read about fix my browser (firefox), reinstall and change the user's directories, etc., etc... The truth is that problem persist and it's really damned annoying because I cannot do anything with Zimbra. Any Idea to fix this bug?

BTW... My log directories are empty!!!

    Thank you!

How about giving some further information such as: the version of Zimbra Desktop you're using; the operating system in use; what type of server is the ZD account connected to; what type of connection (IMAP, POP3,Gmail, Zimbra)l if it's a Zimbra server, what version of ZCS is in use; is it only one server connection that causes the problem??
    Regards

if it is a multi server install then you need to setup correct DNS server or put your IP address and hostname in /etc/hosts file like this:

    192.168.1.1 zimbra-mail.example.com
    192.168.1.2 zimbra-mta.example.com
    192.168.1.3 zimbra-ldap.example.com
    192.168.1.4 zimbra-proxy.example.com
and so on....if any more server.

    do this in all servers.
    Thanks & Regards

I got the same error (Windows 8.1). Finally it was solved as follows. I started Zimbra. The error was shown. Then I went to the Task Manager and killed the Zimbra process. Then I restarted Zimbra. I went to the normal startup screen and everything worked normal again. (notice that when you have the error and start Zimbra it goes directly to the mail/calendar screen without doing the start up process)

    Default also under Linux

I have the same problem, running ZD 7.2.2 GA under Ubuntu 13.10. After launching the desktop, it starts to synchronize. With several email accounts configured, including a Yahoo account and two Zimbra ones (set as IMAP), the synchronization stops after downloading some messages from all accounts (no error displayed). When clicking on any email message (including already downloaded ones), the message "Cannot connect to server" shows up. Details show:
    " method: SearchConvRequest
    msg: Cannot connect to server.
    code: EMPTY_RESPONSE
    "
I can restart the desktop app, then some more emails get downloaded, but after some time it will stop again.
The first time (after configuring the Yahoo account) it was downloading about 5 GB before it stopped, since then the problem occurs after downloading only a few emails.
Unfortunately, I cannot fix it like ajoposor, that does not work for me.
Would be nice to get this working.
