Question Removing emails from server

I haven't seen this option and likewise need to understand how. I have multiple devices accessing email, and I want my desktop to be the final system of record by deleting the email from the server.

I'm on the MAC Lion OS, Zimbra Desktop 7.1.2 (build 10978).

There must be a way to do this, it's academic to email clients.

I'll move this to a new thread as your question has nothing to do with the thread in which you posted.

What do you actually mean by that statement in the highlighted text?

Same comment, I don't really understand what you're trying to achieve here.

I want to find the setting to remove emails from the server once downloaded. The highlighted text is for background. As I said I have multiple devices accessing this account. I want to have these emails removed from the server once I read them in Zimbra. How to do this?

is it a zimbra server or regular mail?

use on all devices imap or zdesktop or if its a zimbra server the webui

on your final one you can either delete mails (will sync on all devices) or backup them to the localfolder

also take a look in zimbra gallery - thers a auto archiv zimlet to backup and delete older mails

however if you got everything on imap/zdesktop all things are replicated all the time - delete on one device deletes them forever

This is Yahoo! mail. This doesn't answer the question.

Simply put, there is usually a setting in the email client which allows deleting emails from the server once downloaded. Where is the setting on Zimbra desktop UI?

Then learn to ask the correct question

You never said something about downloading -
downloading means you wanna use pop3

(btw this is nonsense use imap everywhere and leave the mail at yahoo and just archive em to the locla folder once yahoo gets full would be way better but ok you asked for the worst solution...)

So you have to use the pop3 protocoll
DO NOT klick on yahoo or imap then - those are server side stored mails aproaches which just sync mails to desktop and doenst download em

if you really just wanna download em use pop3

however zdesktop has no option to leave mails on the server with pop3 it will always download and delete
