Exclamation Desktop detail lost

I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this but I'm not sure where else to go.

Whenever I go to my address book the desktop loses all page details. The only thing left are the tabs at the top of the page, their icons, and folder icons. The email preview page will show the email but the email "subject" areas on the left pane have no words. The calendar shows highlighted events but the event descriptions are gone. The address book has icons on the left but nothing else. The contacts in the address book are shown on the right side of the screen but there is no information, just a name at the top. This started happening after I set desktop to sync with gmail for contacts. It did happen once or twice prior to this but not consistently. Once this problem occurs the only way to reset the desktop is to completely close the program (ver 7.1.2 build 10978) and restart it.

Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

No luck. Had to remove ZDesktop. Looked like a good program but it just wouldn't function correctly.
