As best I can tell, clicking the spam button seems to completely delete (as in not even in the trash) the email. I did a test where sent myself an email with something unique in the body. Then, I marked that email as spam after I received it. Then I did a search over all my email folders and accounts and checked "Also search spam" but my test email did not come up. So, I can only assume it's completely gone!

It should be in your Junk folder.

Yes, that's what I would have thought but there is nothing in the spam folder and as I say in my post, the email is not found in a search that includes spam. Does this feature only work with Zimbra server? I have several POP accounts plus a Gmail account that I'm using Zimbra Desktop to read.

You are right. We have a bug for it. Bug 67065 – There is no correlation between Gmail's Spam folder and ZD Gmail IMAP Junk folder

I think it's only for gmail account. Please try your other imap/pop accounts.

Actually, the test I did was with a POP account, not Gmail.
