Default Changing the incoming email sound.

Is there a way to change the incoming email sound in Zimbra Desktop 7 ? The current sound is rather quiet and doesn't always get my attention.

Setting up desktop alerts and reminders

The preference page has no option for "picking" a sound clip. However, it does mention that you must have QuickTime or MediaPlayer in order to hear it.

When I turned on the sound, I heard a "da dum" sound which is definitely nothing set in my Windows control panel sounds.

With all this taken into consideration, my best guess is that the sound clip is built into the application. Doing a quick search for .wav shows the following files:

Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop\jetty\webapps\zimbra\public\sounds\im\alert.wav
C:\Program Files (x86)\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop\jetty\webapps\zimbra\public\sounds\im\notify.wav
Playing alert.wav sounds exactly what the alert sounds like when new mail arrives. So if you want to change the sound, find another .wav file and overwrite alert.wav with the new one.

NOTE: The web client works the same way...you enable the sound alert and it plays the sound clip stored on the web server. However, if you change the sound clip on the web server, that changes it for everyone unlike changing it on your local desktop client.
