Drag / Drop into folder changes format to Google Chrome

I receive an email with an Excel attachment, I try to drag/drop it into a folder right?

When I do this, it changes to a Google Chrome internet shortcut instead of staying as a .xls file.

How do I make this keep its native .xls format??

Surely someone knows about this. I just want to drag n drop into my folders. Did I put this in the wrong place?
