this happens when uploading a file to the briefcase on zdesktop 7.1.1 (linux/mac/win) and zcs 7.1.2_GA_3268 on ubuntu 10_64
the file will not be shown on the web interface, the syncing is actually not happening

it works to upload files to the briefcase on the web interface, and file will show the zdesktop interface and I will be able to delete that file for example.

any ideas?

thank you

Why do you think it's a bug? Doesn't your Zimbra account use SSL security (i.e. https) for a connection?

Must Zimbra Desktop works with SSL connection only?

No, I'm guessing that the poster I replied to has a server that's using SSL. Obviously if the Zimbra server is using SSL then ZD will only be able to use that - why would anyone use anything else to connect to an important mail server?

Hi Bill,

I like to have a quick confirmation on the solution because we currently have the same configuration as the poster and seems to encounter synchronisation issues with ZD too.
We have not installed SSL yet.
So we wonder if connecting using SSL is really the solution.

Thanks!

It should work with non-SSL accounts.

You don't have to install anything, just change the operating mode from http to https and restart zimbra.

So, are you saying that you're connecting via SSL even though your server isn't set-up for it?

Our server does not have SSL yet. So if this is the solution, we would install SSL certification to resolve it. But it does not seem logical if the sync could only work with SSL connections.

Some of the symptoms encountered in ZD :
1. ZD keeps prompting for user / password when selecting "New Email".
2. Emails with attachment stay in the Outbox and does not get sent out.

Any idea whether these are related issues?
