    I have the identical ZD on two PCs, (build 10978). One works fine, the other gives the Auto-complete error. On the machine that fails, in some cases I can type only 1 letter successfully, in others I can type 3 or 4 before getting the error. I've tried to spot a pattern (e.g. names at the beginning or end of the alphabet, old or recent address book entries, etc), but can't see anything obvious.

    However, I've noticed something else which may be related. On the "faulty" PC, if I click the "To:" button, then type in a character or two and "Search", I get "A network service error" (will attach the log). This seems to be connected with the Global Address List which is empty on this PC, but has some names on the other (not sure what this means). If I search Contacts, there is no problem.

    I'll attach the error trace, and meanwhile see if I can spot what's different between the 2 installs.

    Thanks for your info. You are right, it's related to GAL and auto complete. We have a number of updates in this area, so I guess there is a high chance that this is fixed in the upcoming release (pretty soon, early Dec), since I can't reproduce it using my local dev build. Please let us know if it works by then. Thanks a lot.

    OK, thanks. I admit to not knowing how the GAL is populated. My ZD talks to a Zimbra server which is outsourced - we have no admin access to it. But on one of my ZD instances, it seems to be populated with an old copy of the main mailboxes on the server; this is different from the true list currently on the server (which I can see using the Web interface). On my other ZD instance, the list is empty. So I guess somewhere there is an issue populating this list from the server.

    Yeah, it could be. Our coming release in early Dec has a button to reset the GAL. You can try that too.

    Default Any word on those updates

    I am having the exact same issue with Auto complete. I have been reading the forum and it stated that you were expecting an update for this in early December. Has an update or patch for this issue been released yet?

    Have tried this version on the PC which was failing before. I reset the GAL, reindexed, and now it's finding names which previously gave the error, so, fingers-crossed (as it's still beta!).

    Thanks for the fix.

    Since there are no solutions, I shifted to MS Outlook Express.
