Error message flashes up then goes to setup screen

I'm running Zimbra Desktop 7.0.1 under Linux Mint 9. I have both Zimbra server and a GMail connections.
When the desktop starts it displays an error message too quickly to click the show error button, then drops to the setup screen. On pressing Launch Desktop it opens then repeats the error message problem.
So I'm unable to send an error message or even tell you what it says.
The only solution seems to be to reset the Zimbra account. This then works for a while, until it has fully synchronised the account, then goes back to the problem.
Anyone got some advise on finding out what the error message says, so I can then start investigating what is really wrong?
