YES the icon appears in my dock - greyed out - and all I get is the spinning daisy wheel and the error message....

In case anyone is following this thread with bated breath : despite the update today (20120404) of Java for Mac, I am STILL unable to get Zimbra Desktop to launch. I STILL only ever get the spinning daisy wheel....
I have to use Zimbra installed through Prism - which has the disadvantage that I don't get badge notifications.

I'm not a zimbra user but this java related issue comes because mac osx 10.7 install java in different place than osx 10.6.
I think this may help you.

I have re-read all of these replies and only have 1 reply from a VMware Zimbra tech. I like when other users can help each other but as this thread has no solution, it would be nice to have Zimbra engineers weigh in on possible solutions please.

These are Community supported forums not official Zimbra support - people post here when they have the time. The post from last year had a solution in it, did you try it? You also haven't given any real information about your ZD version nor an exact description of the problem - perhaps it's time for someone to file a bug report?
