Thumbs down Spam question

After marking incoming mail as spam, what happens to the future incoming if it has been marked as spam? It seems to keep being downloaded and displayed in the in box. Is it possible to have all spam just deleted from the server and not downloaded.?

I also would like to know the answer to this. In my case (ZCS OSE 7.1.1) I have created a filter to move these messages to the SPAM folder, but the next message will be from the same SPAMMER just using a different address and subject line.

Does the SPAM system learn to recognise these messages and take appropriate action or will I always have to create a filter to action these SPAM messages manually?
