Default Autosorting Mail

I am really enjoying ZD. Thank you so much for this wonderful program. There is simply no other like it.

One feature I would dearly like to have is autosorting of mail into other folders.

The more control the better of course with as many criteria and as much fine tuning as possible considered in the sort. Of course even just being able to sort by ... "from" ... "to" ... "subject" and hopefully word content and date would be nice too.

I spend an awful lot of time sorting into folders and this would be a great enhancement for me (and hopefully others too!)

Thank you for considering it!

Use a Filter, it's on your Preferences tab.

Try the search function to find your email (you can save the search): Zimbra Web Client Search Tips - Zimbra :: Wiki

Awesome! I missed that!

Thank you! Excellent!

I did not see a way to move a filtered message to local folders though.

Perhaps consider adding this.

It will still be helpful as now I can sort the mail in the mailbox. But I will still then have to move each folder's contents to a local folder. (unless there is a way to move it there with the filter that I missed!)

I don't use local folders but I don't believe there's any function in the filters to do this. The only option for that would be drag'n'drop or right-click/move option.

There is an outstanding RFE for this feature here: Bug 29901 – Support cross-account and local filter rules - add your vote and comments to that report (you'll need to create a separate account on bugzilla). I should point out that there doesn't seem to be much movement on that feature but that doesn't mean it won't happen - sometime.

Yes, I think you are correct.

I double checked.

In the filtering feature, there is an option to move filtered mail to other folders within the mailbox where it is received or sent, but I see no option to move it to a local folder.

So I have to move it manually to local folders.

Yes, that would be correct. Don't forget that this is a move and not a copy so you will have the only copy of your email on your PC, make sure you use the backup feature of ZD.
