Question Zimbra 7.0.1 won't initialize

Help.

I installed Zimbra 7.0.1 into Vista Business SP2. No error message appeared and everything seems to be ok. But when I run Zimbra Desktop, it did not initialize, (which it did in other computers) and nothing followed (no message, no GUI).

I have exactly the same problem with Windows XP SP3 but it worked fine in Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits

Both OS are installed in Spanish.

Thank you.

Smile ZD7 won't start : W scripting host activated ?

Could not start Zdesktop7(nor 2, btw) on my new laptop (W 7/64/pro).
The installation had no problem, but ZD would not start at all.
My solution : reactivate Windows scripting host, an option which was blocked in "XPantispy", however an interesting program anyway.

Verify that windows scripting host is "activated".

Enabled WSH. ZD 7.0.1 still won't initialize.

Default Me too!

Hi! I have the exact same issue. User is on Windows XP SP3. Was using ZD 2.0. About 11 days ago it just stopped working. "Initializing, please wait" window would come up, then disappear and nothing else. I have tried the following:

1. Uninstalled ZD, deleted Zimbra folder in Program Files, ran a system cleaner and registry cleaner, rebooted, downloaded and installed ZD 7.0.1 Beta version 2 (most recent as of today).
2. Did a system restore from 4 days prior to when the user first reported the issue. Then re-did all of #1 above.
3. Followed directions to enable Windows Scripting Host in the registry.
4. Although the user already had C++ 2008 Redistributable ..., downloaded and reinstalled it anyway.
5. Some posts regarding this issue with earlier versions of ZD mention enabling Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop service. The user does not have this service. Niether do I, but my XP SP3 system is running ZD just fine, so I'm not sure whether this is still relevant.

None of the above has resolved the issue. The Zimbra log folder is empty and there are no Event logs pertaining to this issue. When trying to launch ZD, if I watch the processes in Task Manager I can see cscript.exe start, but then it closes again. Tried launching zdrun.vbs directly and it just hung there as described in previous posts. After clicking ok, the user got the "Windows Script Host" runtime error message,

Script: C:\Program Files\Zimbra\Zimbra Desktop\win32\zdrun.vbs
Line: 279
Char: 1
Error: Path not found
Code: 800A004C
Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Any help would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks!

Default Same Problem

The same problem. The zdrun.vbs does nothing and no log.

all in XP Pro with SP3, the strange thing is that in some computers it works and in others don't.

Default ZD won't initialize

Exactly! We have a large number of laptops in the field this is running on. A few are Windows XP SP3, most are Windows 7. They all worked fine at first, then on a few ZD just quit.

Default It has been considere a Bug

Hello,
I opened a case in Zimbra support and it has been considered a bug, at least for Spanish language, I imagine that when they solve it for spanish it will be solved for the rest of languages.
What I don't know is when the new release will appear.

The answer from Zimbra support:

We are seeing this as a recurring issue, and believe it to be a bug. We've elevated it so that our engineers can look at it right away. I've added your case to the bug. I'll let you know if there is a workaround.
