Default Next expected ZD 7 release?

Is there an ETA for the next release of ZD 7?

Will it be a GA release, or Beta 3?

Details are on the Product Portal.

"Mid 2011" perhaps stretches the definition of "detail."

As far as I can see there are no open issues or uncompleted requirements. Does this mean that we should expect it any day now?

JCowart ---- let me give you a little advice about Zimbra. Don't waste your money.

While technically, their product is superior to anything else on the market, just wait until you need to contact them for support of any kind.

We've been trying to contact Zimbra Technical Support for four weeks now. It is *LITERALLY* impossible to contact anyone.

Their website lists three different countries - US (california) , India, and the UK.

ALL telephone numbers regardless of who you call wind up in voice mail and no one ever returns your call.

Don't believe me? Just try calling their sales department as if you wanted to purchase the product .... regardless of what number you call in what country or at what time of day, you will *always* receive this message:

Thank you for calling Zimbra Sales, we can't take your call right now.... And this is their SALES department! Don't even get me started about their technical support!

Actually we've been a Network Edition customer for 3+ years and have generally had very good experience with Zimbra support...

I wouldn't put *too* much store by the Zimbra product portal:

It's good for looking at details of bugs and their conditions.

It's pretty poor for looking at what release a bug relates to, as the 'target milestone' field is often empty or not visible - even when bugs have indeed been targeted for a specific release.

In those cases, the only way to find-out is to do an advanced search for a specific release - then you'll see all the related bugs. That's truly unhelpful when you see a bug and simply wish to know it's release target!

For details of release dates, the product portal is horrendous:

- It's not kept well up-to-date
- It often contains errors.
- It often doesn't update release details until sometime after the product has been released!
- It is in general particular poor at recording Zimbra Desktop changes.

As an example, at present it show Zimbra Desktop 7 patch 7.0.1 as having been released on 03/07/2011. Untrue. ZD 7 GA hasn't been released yet (due for 'mid-2011).

ZCS 7.1 is a bit of numbering mess - it seems GA has not been released - but it has actually!

There are no changes for 7.1 listed - they are all hidden inside patch 7.1.0 - which is in fact 7.1 itself. Patch 7.1.0 is also listed as unreleased.
