Default zimbra desktop can not connect to http://mailserver/service/soap/

Cannot connect to "http://<redacted>/service/soap/". Please check host/port and network connectivity.

No matter whether i use my servers internal IP address (no firewall inbetween) or my servers public domain name i get this error message in the latest zimbra desktop 2.0.1

Strange thing is it worked this morning with Zimbra desktop version 2.0. i was upgrading to test out the social networking tab for my client, but at this rate i wont be deploying desktop v2.0.1 until i can find out whats causing this issue

Any ideas would be great.

Ps i have already searched the forums and tried serveral different solutions to no avail. Plus my funambol server which connects to http://<server-ip>/service/soap works perfectly!! ArGGHH.

We've run into this as well (a mac user running OS 10.5.*) installed zimbra desktop 2.0 but when she tries to set up the account she gets the same error.

Is Zimbra Desktop 2.0 supposed to work with the latest version of Zimbra server?

Zimbra Desktop is not in beta and the GA version was released in April. You can get it from the main page on the Zimbra web site.

That's not a good idea. It would be better to check your server is in SSL mode and use a 'Zimbra' account to connect to the server - there's should be no reason why ZD 7.x it can't connect to a current version of Zimbra.
