imap to google does not remove deleted items in gmail box

hi,

I installed the desktop client, using IMAP to GMail. reading = fine. deleting an item in the Zimbra Desktop does NOT remove the item in the GMail box.

how do I sync this? I can remove items from the Trash in Zimbra, but the mail still stands in the GMail live box.
