Default Does ZD 2.01 actually work on XP?

I have just been trying to install ZD 2.01 on XP and haven't had any luck. I've tried an existing XP Pro SP3 and that failed (immediately quits at launch). Then a clean install of XP SP2 only to get the same result.

Before wasting anymore time on this, some feedback for other users would be appreciated.

Cheers!

I currently have ZD 7 beta1 running on all flavours of Windows 32bit & 64bit versions without problems, prior to that I had ZD 2.x versions installed and they had no problems.

I have seen several other users having problems getting it to launch. You must be one of the lucky ones. Appears there may be some requirements not satisfied in clean XP Pro SP2 install.

I also tried ZD2.01 on Win7 Ult 64, no luck either.

I am hesitant to use the ZD7 beta, but can't be much worse the ZD 2.01!

Anyone want to chime in with some feedback on XP milage?

My event viewer (system) shows some source:SideBySide errors...
Dependent Assembly Microsoft VC80.CRT could not be found...
Generate Activation Context failed for c:\...\zimbra desktop\win32\prism\zdclient.exe
Resolve Partial Assembly failed for MS VC80.CRT. References Assembly not installed

I tried installing MS Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 SP1 to no avail. I have about 200 desktops that i would like to roll to ZD to and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Progress update:
After installing the MS Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package I get further, but ZD 2.0.1 still not fully launching.

I get a progress animation which times out with an error after a minute or so: Couldn't access Zimbra Desktop server... I am not sure what server it is trying to contact, as I haven't setup any accounts yet?!
