Default Error when adding account

I am trying to add an account to Zimbra Desktop 7 beta and I'm getting an error.

I've added other Zimbra accounts without error and I am able to log into the Zimbra web front end for this particular user.

The error I'm getting is: account.NO_SUCH_ACCOUNT: no such account: null

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm getting the same error.
I'm using Kubuntu 11.04 alpha.
Adding a gmail or yahoo account is working correctly.
If I put in the wrong password or username, it correctly realises the mistake and lets me know that it can't be authenticated - thus it is correctly communicating with the server.
If I enter all the correct details, I get the above error:

account.NO_SUCH_ACCOUNT: no such account: null

We have tried using other users' account details, with the same error.

Infuriating!

Workaround:

The workaround until this is fixed (which I have tested successfully) is to:

1) remove Zimbra Desktop 7 beta 1 (remove the /opt/zimbra folder and the
/home/<user>/zdesktop folder or your alternative locations);

2) install Zimbra Desktop 2 (old versions are available at:
Zimbra - Products: Zimbra Desktop Downloads

3) add your account;

4) install Zimbra Desktop 7 beta 1.

Hey presto! Since your account has already been added, Zdesktop 7beta1 should now work correctly.

So what you're actually saying is that your ZD 7 beta install was a clean install on your kubuntu machine? If that's the case, you should update your bug report with that info. I've done a clean install on a couple of openSUSE machines and didn't see that behaviour, I'll try some more later on today and see what happens.

That is the case.

Just to clarify, for me it only occurs with a clean install of Zdesktop 7 beta 1.
If I upgrade from Zdesktop 2, existing Zimbra accounts function correctly, and I can add additional Zimbra accounts from within Zdesktop 7.

Also, please note, as per bug report in my case it is occurring using (K)ubuntu 64 bit.

@ cpaul_carling :

It would be really helpful to know the details of your operating system, and presumably the error occurred after a clean install of Zdesktop 7?

Also, could you clarify what you meant when you stated "I've added other Zimbra accounts without error"? Did you mean for example Zimbra Desktop 7 beta 1, or an older version of Zimbra Desktop?

So far I've done a clean install of ZD7 on openSUSE 11.4 RC1 without problems, I'll continue with other tests and let you know what happens.

Cheers Bill.

Could it perhaps be an issue specific to 64bit systems?

In any case I'll also try on some different 32 and 64 bit linux distros today...

I wouldn't have thought so, I didn't mention it but the install I did on openSUSE was a 64bit one. I'll be testing the other on 64bit operation systems as well. Just out of interest, which version of kubuntu did you install ZD on? There's two versions on their website, 10.10 & 10.04 lts, I'm downloading the 10.10 at the moment and I guess I can assume (just so I have the same conditions) that your version is fully-to-date?

Thanks.

I've tried it on Kubuntu 64 bit 10.10 (fully up-to-date) and 11.04 (alpha).

The only other variable I could imagine would be the server/service provider, but that also seems highly unlikely.

First failure (probably) so far, I can confirm this problem happens on a Windows XP 64bit system. I removed all references to Zimbra from the HD & the registry and install ZD 7, I then tried to connect to a valid account (my normal account) on my ZCS NE version (on my LAN) and received the error you're seeing. Here's a strange bit of info, I changed ZD to connect to another account on the same server and lo-and-behold it connected fine - the strange thing here is that the second account is totally empty with no email, contacts or calendar events in it whereas my normal account has tons of email etc. in it. I'll try some more testing later today.
