Un-set Default Mail Application

Is it possible to un-set the "Use Zimbra Desktop as default mail application" option? On my machine (Win7 64bit) the option is checked, but greyed out and immutable.

If you set any other mail application like Outlook or Windows Mail to be default mail application, ZD automatically gets un-set.

I tried that, but the next time I run ZD it re-sets itself as the default mail application. I'm assuming that if I could un-check that box (I can't) that ZD wouldn't do this.

This isn't a huge problem as I use ZD normally, but I'm trying to solve another users' ZCO problem and this makes it difficult.
